A Franciscan Parish in the Archdiocese of Detroit

April 27-28, 2019

We have just celebrated the Lord’s death and resurrection. How would you like to visit the place where those great events happened! Wouldn’t that be a dream come true? It is possible! Last year, at the Women’s Christmas dinner, someone suggested that we as a parish should make a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. It was an intriguing idea, so we looked into it. The Franciscan Pilgrimage Program out of Milwaukee agreed to design and lead a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Jordan just for Transfiguration Parish. It will take place October 19-30, 2020, led by two experienced Franciscan Friar Guides, Fr. Anthony Chircop and Fr. Page Polk. They have developed a flier detailing the day by day itinerary, which are available at the welcome desk. There will be visits to Mt. Carmel, Nazareth, Jericho, Masada, Bethany, the Dead Sea, Bethlehem, the Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, and the Holy Sepulchre, the place of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Imagine a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee! (You won’t have to imagine it; you will do it!) The cost, including the flight from Detroit, is $4400 per person. Land only is $3400, and a single room is $350 more. In order to do this, we need at least 20 participants, and we have to confirm the pilgrimage 6 months in advance, so we need to know if we have 20 people by early April 2020, one year from now. We can have many more! You can find out more about this pilgrimage and pilgrimage in general by picking up one of the fliers or checking out their website at www.FranciscanPilgrimages.com. Think and pray about; save your money; this could be a dream come true and the trip of a lifetime! Please let Fr. Jeff know of your interest in writing, so I don’t forget!
