Welcome
Bishop Ferd Cheri
I am very pleased to welcome Bishop Ferd Cheri, OFM, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, to our Parish this week. I am excited and grateful that he will share his insights on several Gospel passages and love for the Lord with us. I hope it is an opportunity, in the midst of this Lenten season, for us to take a little extra time to allow Jesus to encounter us.
We invite you to come Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening this week. We will start at 6:45 PM each evening with songs of praise and worship. On Monday, after the presentation, there will be several priests available giving us the opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. On Tuesday, we will offer the Sacrament of the Sick at the end of the evening. On Wednesday we will celebrate together with a social.
I am grateful for all who have worked to make this possible. I give special thanks to our choir for assisting in our prayer. They have been generous with their time and talent. Thanks to our ushers and greeters and those who will help with parking and celebrating. At the end of each evening there will be an opportunity to make a free will offering which will go toward several causes that Bishop Cheri supports which help promote leadership, and theological and liturgical education for Black Catholic ministry.

I am very pleased to share with you the news that our Provincial Council has assigned a new friar to fraternity and parish, Br. Eric Seguin, OFM. We friars look forward to having Br. Eric share fraternal life and ministry with us. After he gets settled, we will discern with Br. Eric how he can be part of our parish life. I know you will welcome Br. Eric back. Some of you may remember Br. Eric, as he spent about 9 months here a few yeas ago. Br Eric will arrive on April 11.
