Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms. We are so grateful for your love and support throughout our lives. We will be praying for you all in a special way during our Sunday mass today.

The latest information from the Archdiocese is that public masses and parish events are suspended until May 15. If the suspension is extended, we will notify you as soon as possible through our various social media outlets. During these days of “staying home to stay safe,” we are relying heavily on our various forms of electronic outreach.

Flocknote: sign up through parish website or text “good2Bhere” to 84576.  We send daily prayers and weekly updates.

We can also text messages if you enter your cellphone

YouTube:   search “Transfiguration Parish, Southfield”.

Please subscribe. I would also encourage you to sign up to receive the electronic newsletter from the Archdiocese called “Detroit Catholic” through DetroitCatholic.com. This past week there was an article entitled “5 things to expect once public masses return in the Archdiocese of Detroit.” Those five things are

1) wearing a mask, 2) social distancing in church, 3) fewer people, 4) mistakes and imperfections, and 5) continued online presence.

Here in the parish, we will be taking our lead from the Archdiocese in all that we need to do as we move forward, but we are also beginning to prepare and think about what all this might look like here in our parish. We are grateful for your continued support!

Fr. Jeff
